From Function to Beauty: 40 years of Solar Panels in Architecture
The concept of “Building with the sun” seeks to demonstrate the transformative power of solar energy design, lifting solar panels beyond their utilitarian role to poetic expression. SUPSI fosters conversations that bridge design, research and industry. The BIPV research team at SUPSI focuses on pioneering active solar envelopes known as Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV). The team specializes in applied research dedicated to developing, testing, and introducing new multifunctional products for solar architecture.
