Vasku&Klug, a Viennese architectural studio, ran by Michael Vasku and Andreas Klug, will be curating the Preciosa Lighting display, a historic, Czech leader in the production of crystal, with an elegant chandelier installation. Mechanical wonders have fascinated humans for centuries and the desire to breathe life into inanimate objects to make them almost indistinguishable from the living thing was a heartfelt theme of the Arts and Crafts movement. Preciosa’s exhibition, ‘Crystal Automata’, will be proposing mechanical crystal installations, using the same artisanal mastery of the glass and watchmakers of the era. Four installations representing the four elements:water, earth, air and fire, the embodiment of the quality and beauty of Bohemian crystals, moulded by the breath and hands of generations of artisans – true alchemists.
